Eigen Gel is a natural and organic soap crafted by Green Biz, a Ghanaian social enterprise. Their innovative approach involves using cocoa pods, typically discarded after chocolate production, to create a soap rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that benefit both skin and hair. This soap also contains shea butter, coconut oil, and essential oils, enhancing its hydrating and soothing properties.

Founded in 2018 and located in Kumasi, Anonomaso Nkwanta, Ghana, Green Biz is on a mission to transform waste management and promote sustainable practices. Their soap-making process uses biogas, generated from the bio-digestion of human and animal waste, as a heat source. Green Biz also partners with the municipal assembly to upgrade public toilets with bio-digesters, improving sanitation and hygiene in rural communities.

Eigen Gel isn't just a product; it's part of a broader movement. Its name, meaning "our own" in German, reflects the belief in creating solutions for challenges using local resources and skills. Besides being a cleansing soap, it can also serve as shampoo and shaving cream, increasing its versatility.

In 2022, Green Biz achieved recognition for its eco-friendly efforts. They won the African Climate Adaptation and Innovation Challenge, acknowledging their dedication to climate-resilient agriculture and environmental stewardship. Additionally, they received validation through The Advocacy Seed Funding Initiative of the Youth Climate Council, Ghana.

Green Biz's sustainability initiatives include plans to use decomposable bottles made from sugarcane waste. They've already taken steps toward reducing plastic waste by introducing a refill initiative, offering customers a discount for returning bottles in good condition.
