Introduction

StandardFert is a trailblazing green business located in Anyaa-Awoshie, Accra, in Ghana's Greater Accra Region. Our mission revolves around addressing two pressing environmental issues: efficient organic waste management and promoting sustainable agriculture.

At StandardFert, we are committed to simultaneously tackling organic waste management and sustainable agriculture challenges. We collect organic waste from diverse sources like households, restaurants, and markets and transform it into biochar, a nutrient-rich organic fertilizer, through an innovative process.

To inspire positive changes in behavior towards recycling, SESA offers incentives that motivate individuals to actively engage in our recycling programs. We believe that rewarding environmentally responsible actions can encourage more people to participate, ultimately leading to reduced waste pollution.

Our unique process begins with careful composting of organic waste to facilitate decomposition. After composting, controlled pyrolysis is employed to convert the compost into biochar. This biochar serves as an invaluable soil amendment and fertilizer, enhancing soil fertility, water retention, and overall crop yields. This closed-loop system not only mitigates organic waste and methane emissions but also provides sustainable solutions for local farmers.

Situated in Anyaa-Awoshie, Accra, our strategic location enables efficient collection of organic waste and distribution of our biochar fertilizer to nearby agricultural areas.

Our journey began when we participated in an environmental innovation hackathon. Recognizing the pressing issues of organic waste management and sustainable agriculture, we conceived the idea of converting organic waste into biochar, earning recognition as the first runner-up. This validation transformed our concept into a thriving green business.
